We were notified on Friday 10 September 2021 that a person who visited BIG W Carnes Hill on Tuesday 7th September between 7am and 3pm has received a positive Coronavirus diagnosis. 

Anyone who has visited BIG W Carnes Hill during these times is classed as a casual contact and must:

  • Get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. 

  • If your date of exposure at this venue occurred in the last 4 days, you must get another test on day 5 from the date of exposure. Wear a mask around others and limit your movements until you get another negative result. 

  • You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again.

We’re notifying customers and contacting our team members. We will continue to act in line with advice from the health authorities.

As a retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. As an extra precautionary measure, a deep clean is scheduled for Friday 10 September 2021.

While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the safety and wellbeing of the local community is our priority.

Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Carnes Hill store.

Anyone who has been at BIG W Carnes Hill since Wednesday 8 September at 7am and becomes unwell in the next two weeks should contact the National Coronavirus Information Line on 1800 020 080 and get tested.

BIG W became aware of the case on Friday 10 September 2021 and has placed customer notifications in the store.

BIG W has special COVID-19 leave top-up provisions in place. This means our team members will not be financially disadvantaged based on their employment status or availability of personal leave if they contract COVID-19 or are required to self-isolate.
