31 July 2020
We have been notified that a team member at our Craigieburn BIG W store has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
- The team member was in store on Tuesday 28th July, 9am to 6pm and Wednesday 29th July, 9am to 1:30pm.
- We became aware of the case on 31st July 2020 at 7pm. We placed a customer notification up in multiple parts of the store.
Our Craigieburn customers were made aware as soon as we had confirmation with a notification in store.
As a retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. As an extra precautionary measure, the store had additional deep clean on the 31st July.
While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the wellbeing of our customers, team and communities is our highest priority, and in line with public health advice, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in our stores.
Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Carnes Hill store.
Any customers who shopped in our Craigieburn store since Tuesday 28th July and feel unwell in the two weeks that follow should make contact with the Department of Health and Human Services for advice.
