We have been notified that customers at Westfield Northlakes have tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The customers visited Westfield Northlakes on Friday 19th March between 11:20am and 11:50am, and another customer who visited the same centre on Thursday 25th March between 2pm - 3pm.
Anyone who was in the centre at either of these times is required to get tested and isolate until they return a negative test result.
We’re notifying customers and contacting our team members. We will continue to act in line with advice from the health authorities.
As a retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. As an extra precautionary measure, the store had an additional deep clean after hours.
Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Northlakes store.
Anyone who visited Westfield Northlakes since Friday 19th March at 11:20am and becomes unwell in the next two weeks should make contact with Queensland Health for advice.
BIG W became aware of the case on Wednesday 31st January 2021 and has placed customer notifications in the store.
BIG W has special COVID-19 leave top-up provisions in place. This means our team members will not be financially disadvantaged based on their employment status or availability of personal leave if they contract COVID-19 or are required to self-isolate.
